This is the Rice Homepage for Dr. Mike Fagan.

Since I am neither a Rock Star nor a famous elite athlete, I will not refer to myself in the 3rd person (except for the first sentence).

I got my undergraduate degree from Rice with a triple major: Mathematics, Mathematical Sciences (now Computational And Applied Mathematics), and Electrical Engineering.

I subsequently went one more year for a Professional Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering (MEE).

After getting my MEE, I worked as a systems analyst/software developer (primarily embedded systems) in Houston for several years. I then returned  to Rice to earn my Ph.D in Computer Science in 1991.

Since that time, I have spent my entire career at Rice doing research and teaching.
